Maybe. Unless I can get hold of any books relating to the man himself. I know there are books on the Arsenal manager out there...

It's actually freaky Wenger mentioned about Real Madrid because at the moment, I am reading a book charting about the history of European football and there's a chapter which is all about the club's early rise to prominence.

Well, Wenger is an old man, so I suppose he was a fan of the 1950s Real Madrid as a child and then as a young adult he looked at the 70s editions of Gladbach and Bayern for inspiration.

Danke! :) All the more earlier this month I have actually read Ulrich Hesse-Lichtenberger's Tor! (he has a chapter on the Bayern-'Gladbach rivalry in the book), now I am able to see 'Gladbach goals in all their glory.

'(maybe – I just like the image)'
LOL! :P

Anyways, that is something new to me regarding the man now at Arsenal. Arsene Wenger had said on L'Equipe yesterday that Real Madrid was the team of his childhood but the reason why he never went to Spain in the summer was what he is doing at Arsenal.

But then just imagine what would have happened to Bayern Munich had they managed to get Wenger ahead of Arsenal. ;) I read former Arsenal vice-chairman David Dein (the man instrumental in bringing Wenger to the club) said on the 13th anniversary of Wenger at the club at the beginning of this month that Bayern were also interested in getting Wenger.
