Weekly Dose 06.06.08

By: Jan | June 6th, 2008

I’m sorry about the complete lack of updates here, except for the odd Weekly Dose edition. I’m currently spending most of my time over at the Germany World Cup Blog. But I hope to have the odd Bundesliga related post ready to help those who don’t care about the Euros through the next month.

  • The Bundesliga Offside’s new theme tune. And for those who know a bit of German, it’s also a fun little quiz about Lukas Podolski and Luca Toni. If you don’t speak German, you might still try clicking around randomly to see a bit of Luca/Lukas in action. (FAZ)
  • Fun with names: Lehmann knows the Veh to Stuttgart. (AFP)
  • Trouble with names: football versus soccer. (Deutsche Welle)
  • Midfield ace and enfant terrible Stefan Effenberg talks about the Champions League struggles of the Bundesliga clubs. (uefa.com)
  • After missing out on the old Zidane, the Bundesliga could be home to the new Zidane. (Guardian sportblog)
  • Deutsche Welle added interviews with Nuremberg’s Angelos Charisteas, Dortmund’s Mladen Petric and Bayern’s Marcell Jansen to their “Heroes of the European Championships” dossier. (Deutsche Welle)
  • Uli Hesse-Lichtenberger profiles the silent enigma known as Miro Klose. (ESPN Soccernet)

I like the new theme tune. But my German is terrible. So didn’t try out the quiz. :P

‘Fun with names: Lehmann knows the Veh to Stuttgart.’
I remembered at first I was like thinking ‘What?’. Before realising it’s about the news of Lehmann off to Stuttgart. ;)

Football versus soccer…maybe I am a purist but, I take the former. It’s strange we use British English over where I live and yet in the sports section of the newspapers, ’soccer’ is used. Confusing.

Hi, I do an LFC blog and have done an article on Philippe Degen.
Can any Dortmund fans give us Reds the lowdown on Degen? Any comments lift on the blog greatly appreciated.
