I had already seen good games on Friday already. :) Like in the first-half of the season between Bayern and Hoffenheim. Still, it boils down to luck. I don't usually watch matches which are shown on Friday unless it interests me. It is always because of the time difference. Or if I cannot really go to sleep.

Regarding the Barca tie, I just hope Bayern can do something after what happened to them in the league. Even if Wolfsburg never gave Bayern a spanking, there is already someone in my family rooting Bayern to beat the CL favourites. My father. :P When the draw was made, that was what he said! But then again, he is a Man Utd supporter. The defending champions of the trophy. He had already from the start singled out Barca to be stepping in the way of Man Utd defending the CL title.

It is ironic, considering a decade ago, my father witnessed how Man Utd beat Bayern to the CL title. It still makes him smile till this day whenever I just mentioned it. You would not expect him to root Bayern of all clubs to beat Barca in the CL.

The DFL needs to schedule more top games to the Friday night spot and all is well. :-)

Klinsmann has now hit out at his players questioning their attitude and future at the club at the end of the season. It'll certainly be interesting to see whether they'll show a reaction against Barca.

I forgot to add this, Jan. I should be happy that after the 2006 World Cup, I get to see Klinsmann on TV here again. To be honest, I thought it may never happen.

Back then when watching the Bayern-Hannover match (which Bayern won 5-1) and looking at how Klinsmann reacted from the touchline when the goals went in...it reminded me how he used to be like three years ago when he was the coach of the German national team. That was the man I know. That was the man who was indirectly responsible why I am watching German football since. It is like, everything actually began with Klinsmann. I know it is not sunny days at the German national team at the moment, but remembering how it all began with me and German football, it went back to the summer of 2006.

Anyhow at that time coming into the Hannover match, Klinsmann came in for a lot of criticism of how Bayern had been doing and it actually broke my heart. Even as a VfB Stuttgart supporter myself, I don't pretend I don't feel sorry for Klinsmann each time Bayern is being handed a defeat. Even if there are times his work may be called into question.

I was actually initially stunned when Bayern lost 5-1 at Wolfsburg. Before remembering his side has to react when they play Barcelona in the Champions League. Still, the Grafite goal...goal of the year nominee indeed.

Jan, we have the weekly highlights programme here. So in a way I don't miss out. But then again, it all depends on luck on what we get. Still no matter what, whichever two sides are playing on Friday will be shown here.

Football may be the most popular sport here but when it comes to German football...the column inches only start to fill up whenever the international break comes along. And that is a fact. ;) I should be thankful the Bundesliga is on here in the first place as it is also competing for airtime from other leagues on our pay-TV here. I am very realistic.

Apart from getting Bundesliga updates on the Teletext here whenever it comes. In fact my father, the one who does not follow the Bundesliga, was aware of Bayern's heavy loss at Wolfsburg through the Teletext and he told me about it. I was like thinking when he first told me of the scoreline, 'I knew it before you do'. :P Anyhow, I just tried to explain to my father the situation going into the match and what the result may mean for Klinsmann given all the more there is the Champions League tie against Barcelona next.

So they decided to show two largely irrelevant matches (OK, Bielefeld want to avoid the drop but still..) and skipped the top match of the weekend? Maybe you should inform the TV network in Singapore what the Bundesliga table currently looks like. :-)

Jan, I did watched the original video (in regards to Grafite's goal) but the second video you had replaced...way better than the original one you put up. :)

I recognise the voice in that commentary actually. Because that is what I always get here. :P For most of the matches we get here, that is.

Anyhow, the Wolfsburg-Bayern match was not shown here actually. Me still feel like cursing over that. Because we get the Rhine derby (Cologne and Bayer Leverkusen), plus the Friday action between Arminia Bielefeld and Schalke here. That is like about it.

I've replaced the second video, because it previously took ages to load, so the commentary is different now, but the new commentator enjoys the goal quite a bit as well. :-)
