Interesting news. Could be a whole wave of Mexicans coming to the league. Although from showing interest and scouting to actually signing them can be a long road. Horst Heldt told the press that they put an eye on Osorio and Pardo after their performances in the Confederations Cup 2005 and then decided to go after them after the World Cup one year later.

Ups, Jan . Yes the put the spanish version because the hype of Osorio and Pardo. And some months afer, Bayern made the same move (Now Bayern has German, English, Japanese , Chines and Spanish versions).

So to make this post more worthy. Here, Mexican press said Jhonny Magallon (Central Back, of Chivas ) interested Leverkusen. And so Borussia Dortmund was scouting Alberto Medina from the same team (Chivas).

And the president of Grashoppers said, that Aron Galindo (Another mexican defender) was in loan from a Bundesliga team (he didnt said which team).

The only ones who think Bravo is a good player are fans of Guadalajara. Last game he played with Mexico against Honduras , he was always in offside postion, he is just too slow and too lazy, and his skills arent that good neither. Borgetti in the other hand, has the record of being the best scorer in the mexican squad (Better than Borja, Zague or Hugo Sanchez), he may not have the skills or tecnique of other strikers, still he scores lots of goals (Ill think he could be rated as the mexican Gerd Müller ).

And i think the best of the mexican strikers are Nery Castillo (Olympiakos), Carlos Vela (Arsenal, currenlty playing in Salamanca) and Giovanni dos Santos (FC Barcelona).

And just to ende , most of mexicans fans would not recommend Bravo for Stuttgart.

No worries, I don’t mind if people have strong opinions about players, coaches, clubs etc and it’s ok to voice them. And I think/hope Fernando doesn’t take your little rant personally.:-)

I really appreciate the insights/opinions I’m getting here. Assuming you are right about Bravo then 2m Euros is an absolute bargain. So far Stuttgart only has two really good strikers in their squad so they need more depth and someone who can challenge Cacau and Gomez for their place.

BTW: I don’t know if you two follow the Mexican media closely. But there is something I’m curious about. I recently surfed by Stuttgarts official homepage and noticed that they have a Spanish version of their site. Usually the big clubs have an English version along with the German one. Only a few offer even more languages. So I wondered if Stuttgart probably reacted to an increased interest from Mexican fans and wether the public was following what Osorio and Pardo were up to.

I disagree with you 100%, Fernando. Omar Bravo is not just a good striker, he’s the best Mexican striker alive. And that’s just that. And how dare you even mention Borgetti in the same sentence as. See I had to end it before I said football. He’s crap. Crap crap crap. Fonseca is good, but Bravo is better, hands down.

“he may be the “Torjäger” of the last mexican league, but still he sucks.” Right. And van Nistelrooy blows too, just cause he scored a boatload of goals doesn’t mean anything whatsoever. The only thing against Omar Bravo is his height (5′6″), but certainly not his skills or even his positioning ability.

I guess you’ve conveniently forgotten Borgetti’s brilliance at Bolton and Fonseca’s unrivaled time at Benfica? 19 games 2 goals, 16 games 3 goals respectively. I don’t think Omar Bravo would do better in England than Borgetti, but he would score at a better rate than that. So yes, I definitely recommend Stuttgart pick up Bravo. There is a lot of Mexican talent out there, but it’s not currently piled into their front line. You know what, even Bofo Bautista is better than Borgetti.

Sorry, Jan, if that was a little vehement for your liking…I just have strong opinions about Borgetti…

Thanks for the inside knowledge there.:-) It would be great to see some more Mexican talent in the Bundesliga. Pardo and Osorio had a very strong first season with Stuttgart.

Lol, so now Bayern wants every player in the world. Well apart from that, i cant “recommend” Bravo for Stuttgart (Im mexican), he just sucks, he may be the “Torjäger” of the last mexican league, but still he sucks . Nery Castillo of Olympiakos is a better option, even Borgetti (Ex Bolton) and Fonseca (Ex Benfica) are better than him (Just to name a few mexican strikers).
