Quote of the Day: Tim Wiese doesn’t give a Shit

“Some referees probably give a red card for this, but I don’t give a shit about it now. We won the game.”
 
Tim Wiese in his post match interview after a heated northern derby between Hamburg and Bremen ended 1-0 for the visitors. The “some referees would give a red card” bit refers to this kung-fu kick against Hamburg’s Ivica Olic.
 

 
To make the Tim Wiese is a villain story complete, he also made a few good saves, when he should have no longer been on the pitch and sent a goal kick into Hamburg’s half, that would lead to the winning goal.

  This whole squad gets a free pass, though they are the dirtiest in the league–Naldo’s hit on Klose and Diego come to mind as well, and there have been numerous reds that I haven’t even seen. I guess if you score enough goals and place high enough in the table, it doesn’t matter.

  I have to correct you there Luke, Bremen are second to MSV Duisburg in the Anti Fair Play Ranking. Bremen lead the red cards stat with 6 red though Duisburg got 87 yellow cards compared to Bremen’s 67. But it was a very close guess.:-)
