Quote of the Day: Three Fantastic Goals

By: Jan | December 13th, 2008

The third goal was fantastic. The fourth too. And the second as well.

Lucien Favre’s stream of consciousness in the wake of Hertha’s 4:0 victory over Karlsruhe.

You can scrutinize the validity/bias of this statement in the disappointingly chronologic video below.

My personal verdict: The third goal is indeed fantastic. Absolutely wonderful team goal. The much hyped boys from Hoffenheim and Leverkusen couldn’t have done it any better than boring, boring Hertha. But calling the other goals fantastic as well takes away from the fantasticness of the third one I think.

And I thought my maths sucked back in school. I used to fail the subject one too many times. Anyhow, Lulu’s comment cracked me up.

Well, the third was definitely the best, and shows where, hopefully, we’ll be in a year or two. But the fact that 4 were scored is also pretty fantastic, in my opinion. ;)

I think a Hertha highlight reel of this season would already look quite impressive, eventhough it would hide the fact that the team often allows its’ opponent to dominate possession and all… :-)

We’re lulling them into a false sense of security. Or we’re skilled at the counterattack. Whichever sounds like the most impressive/we’re doing it on purpose.
