Skevos Christou

Apoel Nikosia’s Skevos Christou is stretchered off the pitch and receives a yellow card for his troubles.

Schalke were looking to overcome their poor Bundesliga form in their UEFA Cup fixture against the Cyprian minnows. Kevin Kuranyi was looking to overcome his general goal-scoring drought. Both failed.

Schalke couldn’t manage anything more than a disappointing 1-1 draw, which still sends them through to the group stage, thanks to their comfortable 4-1 away victory in the first leg.

UEFA Cup group stage drawn has already been done. And Fred Rutten is going to meet his former club. In Group A: Schalke, Paris St. Germain, Manchester City, Racing Santander, FC Twente.

There you have it. ;) By the way, Wolfsburg have been drawn into the same group as AC Milan.
