Matchday 12: Oliver Kahn’s Big Moment
By: Jan | November 4th, 2007Here it is:
And that was all Oliver Kahn really had to do to earn his paycheck on Saturday. One of 18 times he touched the ball. Only the late substitutes saw less of the match. Frankfurt had five shots on goal, but not a single one forced a save by Oliver Kahn. Bayern on the other hand had 38 shots on goal - third highest in Bundesliga history / since someone was nerdy enough to count these things - and 70% possession. It was probably one of the most one sided matches, if not the most one sided match of the season. Amazingly Frankfurt held Bayern to a nil-nil draw nonetheless. Hamburg and Bremen both got their jobs done and bagged three points, reducing the Bavarians’ lead to two and four points respectively.

Now that my Favorite Goalie Ever, Michael Rensing, is out of goal, I’m ready for Bayern to start losing. It would be _really_ nice to see someone else at the top of the table, and I’m not saying that just because there’s a chance that someone else might be Werder.
