Matchday 12: Mario Gomez’ Goal against Nuremberg

By: Jan | November 4th, 2007

This great individual effort was enough to seal a 1-0 away victory over Nuremberg. Two consecutive wins in the league for Stuttgart doesn’t mean they’re out of hot water just yet. While Thomas Hitzelsperger’s return to the squad seems to have done the team’s self confidence a lot of good, their game isn’t yet back to the old high level. They will face Olympique Lyon and Bayern Munich next, and those two matches could send them right back into their small crisis, or mark the club’s glorious return to form. Seeing more Gomez goals like the one above in the process would by highly appreciated by this blog.

Quality! Good to see the youngster find the back of the net again. After Bayern’s frustrating game on Saturday, it’ll be nice to see some quality striking skills matched up this weekend.

Why he took a party of his anatomy in his hand to celebrate his goal? Has he a physical problem or a deformity?

Mario Gomez is such a beast when he’s on form. I think I’m crushing on him. Too bad he’s like two feet taller than me. :(

Cerberus: sorry for the late reply. Well, it was a surprise.;-) This whole Schalke crisis came a bit unexpected to me. I didn’t think they played that bad in the previous games. Although they obviously drew too many of them. So I pretty much thought they book three points in Cottbus and move on. But then again, great result for Cottbus and it has helped get the bottom of the table closer together and that’s a good thing.
