Jens Lehmann annoys his Bavarian Neighbors
By: Jan | September 19th, 2008Following his transfer to Stuttgart, Jens Lehmann and his family moved to the small Bavarian town of Berg about 250 km from Stuttgart. A quiet and peaceful town, I guess. While he has an apartment in Stuttgart, he still choses to commute from Stuttgart’s training ground and to Berg from time to time using a helicopter, warm-heartedly recommended to him by Robinho.
Rupert Monn, the major of Berg, is not too happy about this noisy habit though:
“Numerous people have already complained. I hope that Mr. Lehmann will cease to land in the town in future, otherwise I will speak to him personally.”
In Lehmann’s defense, back when Robinho’s thelicopter ride made headlines, one of our reader’s argued:
“Such a comment by the writer goes to show how ignorant and arrogant he or she is when it come to crime and current traffic situation in Brazil. I guess the writer would love to see Robinho kidnapped by one of the many gang syndicates that prey on celebrities as they drive through the dangerous streets of Brazil, so that their no atlethic talent can have something to write about in their blogs. In future do some research before you write crap.”
Just replace Robinho with Lehmann and Brazil with Bavaria and you’re pretty much spot on. German police have clamped down on crime in Munich in recent years, driving gangs and druglords out of the city and into the nearby mountains and villages.
I’m lying.
Time for Jens Lehmann to adapt to the rural life and get himself a decent Bavarian ride.
