In Numbers: Werder Bremen – Rangers

By: Jan | March 13th, 2008

According to Eurosport:
Possession
Werder Bremen 72,7%
Rangers 27,3%
Shots
Werder Bremen 42
Rangers 4
Shots on Target
Werder Bremen 10
Rangers 1
Corners
Werder Bremen 18
Rangers 2
Accurate Passes
Werder Bremen 512
Rangers 150

Well, you can’t say they didn’t try. Though Rangers only needed one yellow card and two saves, according to the numbers, to defend their lead. There was probably something temporarily wrong with the earth’s gravity that not more shots went in.

‘There was probably something temporarily wrong with the earth’s gravity that not more shots went in.’
Maybe. And so that means there are two German representatives in the UEFA Cup and not three.

And sticking with Werder Bremen, Eurosport has also done their own Euroscout on Diego when he was playing against Rangers – http://eurosport.yahoo.com/14032008/58/premier-league-euroscout-diego.html

As I was reading that, I wondered if Eurosport was aware of the wonder goal he scored in the previous season. I think it’s against Alemannia Aachen (me having a brain fart these days :( ). As much as Diego’s good, I just don’t want to see him in the Premier League. All along I had never believed one bit that is out of the English tabloids in terms of transfer rumours and I hope this is just one of those rumours. At least Chelsea manager Avram Grant had said that they are not interested in Diego.

That was a wonderful goal by Diego against Rangers. Gosh, Bremen deserve something better really.
