Raffael and Cicero

Success can glue a team together. But in Hertha’s case nothing quite seems to have the intended effect this season.

A sun burst caused a disturbance in the earth’s magnetic field. A butterfly flapped its’ wings. In the Latvian capital of Riga Hertha won a football match against FK Ventspils 1-0.

It was a hard fought victory. Nothing will ever be easy for Hertha this season. Hertha started brightly and played well, by their standards. Raffael scored. Hertha took the lead. Hertha had several chances to score a couple more goals, but of course they didn’t. They rather started to get quite nervous in the second half, played sloppy counter attacks and Raffael got himself sent off after making assumptions about the referee’s family background. Presumably. Hertha still won eventually. Because of the sun bursts and butterflies, Sporting Lisbon grabbed a draw with an injury time equalizer against Heerenveen to put Hertha in a good position to advance to the Round of 32.
