Hitzfeld rested a couple of players and Podolski and Ribery only played for around 60 minutes. So not every player on the pitch was completely tired. But it is still stupid to play this match on Saturday and not on Sunday. The other UEFA Cup teams like Nuremberg, Leverkusen and Hamburg all had the same problem already this season. There is always one team that has to play on Saturday instead of Sunday, because the schedule for the matches seems to be tied to the TV contracts, so the DFL can't just schedule a third Sunday match.
