FC Nuremberg: Cup Winners, Guitar Heroes

By: Jan | November 10th, 2007

FC Nuremberg HomepageAbby from the Hertha Offside is running a small series titled Reasons Why The Bundesliga Is Awesome. It already featured club branded toasters and private player websites with cute childhood photos. You can consider this post to be the unofficial part 3. Because another reason why the Bundesliga is awesome, is the fact that it’s home to a club like Nuremberg; last season’s DFB Cup winners and this season’s relegation strugglers. The club is run by a carpet trader, coached by a witty, grumpy coach from the east of Germany and has a fan club in the UK. Reason enough for you to want to check out their homepage.

Now, before I provide you with the link, I would like to ask you to connect some proper HIFI equipment to your computer, if you haven’t already, and turn up the volume, so that your neighbours get a share of the fun as well. Done? OK, here it is:

PS: Can anyone name the tune?

This is unrelated, but I just saw on soccernet’s live scores page that Stuttgart are leading Bayern 3-0, and it’s only halftime!

    :)

You know I wish I could see the look on Uli Hoeness’s face at halftime. Didn’t Stuttgart didn’t get the memo that they’re supposed to suck?

Now they’re playing like the German champions they are. It’s just too bad that Stuttgart are now returning to form.

Bayern players look like tired they played thursday evening and have only a day to rest. Why in this case, the match wasn’t reported on sunday for example ? It would be fair.

Thierry, you are right to some extent. Hitzfeld rested a couple of players and Podolski and Ribery only played for around 60 minutes. So not every player on the pitch was completely tired. But it is still stupid to play this match on Saturday and not on Sunday. The other UEFA Cup teams like Nuremberg, Leverkusen and Hamburg all had the same problem already this season. There is always one team that has to play on Saturday instead of Sunday, because the schedule for the matches seems to be tied to the TV contracts, so the DFL can’t just schedule a third Sunday match. Idiotic.
