Cribs: Ronaldinho vs. Diego

By: Jan | February 13th, 2008

While the transfer market is closed - much to the delight of Klaus Allofs I guess - the Diego transfer rumour merry-go-round is in full swing nonetheless. Early interest by Real Madrid was followed by Juventus was followed by Liverpool was followed by Barcelona. It won’t take long before Diego is linked to yet another club, so if I was - for some reason - ever waiting for a short window of opportunity to plot Ronaldinho’s and Diego’s home against each other, and not make it appear totally random, this would be it.

Ronaldinho

Diego (This is a report from Brazilian TV. You can skip to 1:45 to get directly to the tour of his house)

If I were Diego, I’d be hard pressed to give up the romantic setting of a German middle-class neighbourhood, for some random fairy tale villa. More than that though, I would miss playing keepy-up with my neighbour Naldo.

Amazing. Germany’s most popular player lives in a regular home with the barest of fences. I guess Germany doesn’t have a problem with fans who like to get too close?

Maybe it’s the Werder suburb and Per, Clemens and the others live in the other houses. Maybe that’s the best you can buy in Bremen for a €4m a year salary. I was surprised as well.:-)
