Current Borussia Dortmund fullback and former German international Patrick Owomoyela liked to keep all his options open when he was a teenager. While honing his football skills at TSV Stellingen, he also played competitive basketball and apparently pursued a career as lip-sync rapper in a Eurodance project. There isn’t any serious money to be made with basketball in Germany. By 1997, the whole Eurotrash thing was already dying a slow and cheerful death – at least in the countries without ambitions to win the Eurovision Song Contest. Owomoyela chose wisely eventually.
