g, well Amercian Sports at least have the advantage that you can move teams around and get rid of it. You could take Hamburger SV and relocate them to Bremen and rename them to SV Werder Bremen and let the fishheads deal with the mess.

seattle has a noted history of not winning at anything.
we had one of the best baseball lineups of all time, and collapsed in the playoffs, one of the best american football teams of the last few years, and “lost” in the super bowl, michael jordan came out of retirement to beat the (former)sonics in the NBA finals

in short, forbes magazine and ESPN both said seattle had the worst year (in sports) of any major city in history.

but back to hamburg, i do have to agree with you that most of the league defeats were our own fault, especially the lack of passion against bremen after they knocked us out of both the DFB and UEFA…

Jan, you almost gave me a fright with the title! I actually got Muse’s song on my iPod.

‘There’s a mini chance for some title decisive drama and a big chance for drama regarding relegation, Europa League and Champions League and I hope to get a liveblog ready to cover it all.’
Hope to see it by then. I just hope it will not be as dramatic as what happened back in 2001…but then, what do I know? It is my third season following the Bundesliga, and it is quite dramatic.

To think my club will be really having a say on the final day, at the Allianz Arena. I used to fancy my club will have a say in the title race, but not to this extent.

What are these northwest sports?

The DFB-Pokal and UEFA Cup were grandiose defeats for sure, but the league games (including the one against Bremen) were just devoid of any life and spirit. I really thought Hamburg were on a safe route to the Europa League after Dortmund’s defeat against Wolfsburg… Well, the combo Dortmund (Europa) vs Gladbach (Relegation) could still produce some drama from which Hamburg could benefit.
