Never knew the Kaiser was once very...psychedelic. ;)

Jan, I did saw the two links from the Telegraph ahead of the Germany-England and so the links are kind of 'old' for me. :P But maybe you can add this to the Weekly Dose. It came from The Telegraph today - http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/leagues/premierleague/3531940/Premier-League-fans-tighten-belts-as-tickets-go-unsold-Football.html I only brought the link over given it mentioned this: 'High-level talks are also ongoing in an attempt to secure discounted fares for travelling supporters to bolster attendances in away ends. It is a move inspired by the booming German Bundesliga, where attendances outstrip even the Premier League.'

I used to remember my father told me that when he was in London for work four years ago, he almost went to watch a Premier League match there but ended up the match he wanted to watch...the tickets were sold out. The next best alternative for him like what many does in England - head to a pub to watch the match (which he eventually did). A case of when in Rome, do as the Romans do. Anyhow, my father even noted that watching football on TV there is expensive.

As much as we complain about the subscription fees for watching football matches on pay-TV here in my country, at least we are more luckier than our English counterparts. But no way one can convert my father into watching the Bundesliga. Never. I do respect his choice. It's what he has been watching since his schooldays and his loyalties are still there. You have to think...even though there are also other major European leagues than the EPL on TV here, the EPL still generate the most coverage in our papers here. Maybe the British colonial past may have to do with it.

I, um, do watch both leagues (EPL, Bundesliga) on TV.
