There are concerns that Adler’s back may never get better, so right now the thinking is that Neuer will be better. Hope this is wrong as I love Adler.

Bremen:

Despite selling Diego, Bremen does not lack in the attack and play making department this season. In fact with new signing Marko Marin and a top form Mesut Özil, Bremen looks likely to score as many goals as last season. The only problem is that Tim Wiese is only human and if both Torsten Frings and Tim Borowski decide along with both fullbacks to join in the attack every time the ball is up the pitch then Bremen will likely concede just as many goals.

Verdict:

If Schaaf does not change his tactics and play it a little safer then Bremen looks on course for another mid-table finish and the only success will come in European competition.

Which is why I said that we got probably the most easiest draw. Don’t want to sound too over-confident. Stuttgart are getting the side which beat the holders of the UEFA Cup. We once got then-holders Zenit St. Petersburg in the previous season of the UEFA Cup but they still managed to beat us then.

I just look at the fact that both Arsenal and Celtic have been drawn against each other (cue those ‘Battle of Britain’ headlines) and the respective situation to those two clubs prior to the draw…Stuttgart should count their blessings.

@diana: Timisoara knocked out the UEFA Cup winners, so they are no pushovers, but on paper it was certainly the easiest route to the CL group stage. Let’s hope for the best.

Yeah. Knowing Der Kaiser, that is just how he is.

And my club Stuttgart got probably the most easiest draw in the CL-qualifying draw. But then again, I should be secretly thankful we don’t get Celtic because I was reading yesterday that Andreas Hinkel was hoping to draw us.

That is my main worry for Wolfsburg under Armin Veh. But other than that for some funny reason, my mind still kept telling Felix Magath is Wolfsburg coach. Damn.

Last season, the Bundesliga began on the same day as my birthday and this time, two days ahead of my country’s 44th year of independence. And yes, there is still Bundesliga coverage on pay-TV here. I was actually seriously worried the previous season was a one-off.
