Oliver Kahn World Tour Diary
By: Jan | July 4th, 2009Every now and then I ask myself what Oliver Kahn is up to these days. Then I ask YouTube the same question. Then I blog about my findings.
The last time I heard about Oliver Kahn was back in March, when he was quite busy not becoming Schalke’s new general manager. From there it was off to Japan for Ollie…

…where he agreed to use his popularity to help SONAX sell their innovative, environment-friendly and high quality car care products and services.
Sounds good to me, but are they affordable? “You bet!”, said Oliver Kahn before jumping onto a plane to the Middle East.

Over in Saudi Arabia it was a great honor for Oliver Kahn to talk about that 8-0 drubbing Germany handed out to his hosts at the 2002 World Cup. Then the microphone broke down and then he had to catch his flight to China anyway.

Oliver Kahn has been working on his own casting show format called “I Never Give Up! The Kahn Principle” or “Long Menhui”, aiming to find China’s biggest goalkeeping talent. The show’s start had to be postponed for two weeks after authorities feared subversive content. The show was eventually cleared though, after it emerged that eating a Schweinshaxe as punishment was as hard as it gets on this show. The first episode eventually aired last Thursday 22.30h local time on Helilongjiang TV.
With so much Bundesliga and Premier League football being streamed out of China to greedy Westerners, there must be a way to smuggle a copy of this show out of the country as well, right?
