All Lies surely: Bayern mess up their Salary Structure
By: Jan | June 14th, 2007The German sports magazine Sport Bild allegedly revealed “The Secret Payroll of Bayern”. Sounds like a holy artifact that I expect Nazis would try and hunt down in an Indiana Jones movie. It looks like the payroll of a carpenter. It wields the power to spread malevolence, jealousy, envy, distrust and pain throughout the Bayern Munich squad. And so Bayern Munich was quick to issue a statement: “The board at Bayern refute this article as false and will take legal action against the paper. Also Bayern will take steps against any other form of media that prints the story.” Luckily that doesn’t mean I can’t link to the story like there is no tomorrow. Just scroll down a bit to see the list, which I guess is self-explaining despite some German words mixed in. So it’s false and a lie that Luca Toni earns twice as much as all the big dogs in the team and even more than three times as much as, let’s say, Lukas Podolski. Just imagine what would happen if he doesn’t score three times as many goals as Lukas next season?
If we take last season as a measure he will need to score twelve btw.

Holy cow, Toni is earning a gross salary of 10 million? He isn’t that good. Someone needs to tell Bayern to take it easy.

And according to this list their other big signing Ribéry only earns 4.8 million which would reinforce Sam’s notion that he is a moron.;-)

Unbelievable. Ribery made a very bad decision in going to Bayern.

Stating the obvious: wether there is any truth to the list is disputable. According to Bayern it’s all made up.
Sport Bild also published the Trochowski on loan to Dortmund story…
