4. That should be Nowotny. I think Klinsmann was in a little catfight with Christian Wörns over his World Cup squad in/exclusion, and to rub it in Wörns’ face he picked Nowotny, who had been a team player, and who was rewarded with a cameo in the third place play-off. Though I didn’t consider it a shock – compared to Kuranyi’s exclusion. Bernd Schneider seems to be the most underappreciated German midfielder of the last ten years.

1 – Robert Huth was already at Middlesbrough, no?
2 – Lahm? Is it wrong that he’s the only german defender I remember at all?
3 – No idea.
4 – Schneider? Or Nowotny or Neuville. I’m going for Schneider, though.
5 – Hamann!
6 – Had this question on a Sky quiz a little time ago : Odonkor.
7 – No idea. I don’t know the US’s back four, let alone where they all play…
8 – Lukas Podolski!
9 – Edman used to play in the Bundesliga, but that was before 2004, I think… I think Lukic played in the Bundesliga. But he played during the world cup… Well, too bad.
10 – Whoever Germany’s 3rd goalkeeper was. That was easy! Unless you need the name…
