Snapshot: The Oliver Kahn Monument
By: Jan | August 1st, 2007I had always been convinced that Bayern Munich would raise a monument for Oliver Kahn at one point or the other. Not sure whether the pedestal is classy enough though.

He’s staring down that ball like it just killed his dog or something … that is not a man I’d like to have to challenge on a football pitch.

Hey Jan, just wondering if you could be so nice as to give me your views as to where Kevin-Prince Boateng’s best position is. Is he simply a central midfielder? Or can he play in any other position?

How much do you want to bet that Ribery won’t be cutting the toes out of his socks anytime soon?

Juliet: Oliver Kahn is bound to be one of the next victims of Ribery. At least that’s what I’m praying for.

Jay: Sure, I think he is more of an attacking midfielder. If you want to take a peek at his stats last year you can check this page from German sports mag kicker:
http://translate.google.com/translate?u=http%3A//www.kicker.de/fussball/bundesliga/vereine/spielersteckbrief/object/33610/saison/2006-07&langpair=de%7Cen&hl=en&ie=UTF8Google translated, but you can probably guess what some of the stuff refers to (Gates=Goals). They also grade the player for each match from 1 = very good to 6 = very bad. Boateng got a season average of 3,56 which isn’t too impressive. But the whole team underperformed which also had an impact on Boateng I guess.
