I thought for some time that Lehmann would surely ask to be substituted any minute as well. Thought he might have been injured or something. Didn't really have much to do either.

I think the national team is currently a place the players really like to go to and that's a big difference to the years before. Back then you thought they were rather annoyed to be forced to do their duty. Now you have a player like Ballack who is injured but spent the whole time with the team. And I think that both the staff and the teammates were involved to deescalate the situation between Klose and Frings. And Klose has finally spoken out what his plans are. Happy endings all over the place. ;-)

Der Hammer must've snuck the Schale into his bags when he made that midnight transfer to Schalke the other night. Hope Hildebrand & Hilbert don't find out. I wouldn't want to make those guys angry.

I got the feeling Lehmann was taking the whole thing pretty easy yesterday. Didn't it look like he was ready to have a seat midway through the second half and let Timo play?

After the game, the feed showed Klose reaching out to give Frings a hug. I think the soothing embrace of the national team won't let anyone feel bad for too long.
