Weekly Dose 16.09.07
By: Jan | September 16th, 2007I had no time to do any blogging the past couple of days, so I decided to cover some of the football that I missed with a few quick links instead.
- Germany beat Romania 3-1 coming from behind in a friendly on Wednesday. The match ended Romania’s fourteen match unbeaten run. Germany’s team was again heavily reshuffled and Lukas Podolski celebrated his comeback with a nice goal. (YouTube)
- That’s the spirit. Lukas Podolski after receiving a yellow card for pulling his shirt off. (YouTube)
- The match on Wednesday also helped soothing some fresh wounds. Not so long ago Romania thrashed Germany 5-1 at home. A match that marked the beginning of the end of the Rudi Völler era. (YouTube)
- I didn’t get to watch the Germany - England match in the Women’s World Cup. Surprisingly Germany was held to a goalless draw. Probably won’t be a cruise to the final then. Or they might even crash out of the cup if they slip up against Japan on Monday. (YouTube)

- The DFL (German Football League) already hinted at the fact, that the Bundesliga is quite popular in China, which I assume automatically means that there are more Chinese Bundesliga fans than there are German ones. Though it seems they even enjoy Germany’s second division as well. So if you ever fancied watching St. Pauli against Kickers Offenbach in Chinese… (megaupload.com)
- A picture’s worth a thousand words. So if anyone asks you to explain the Bundesliga to them, you might refer them to this photo instead of actually coming up with one thousand words worth of description. (Fritten, Fussball & Bier)
