Philipp Lahm Picks Up a Wii Controller

Philipp Lahm played a solid season despite being on the worst Bayern Munich squad of recent history. And he seems to have found some hip friends with whom he likes to play a round of Mario Strikers Charged on the Wii just to be beaten by a bunch of hip girls a minute later. The clip is all in German obviously but I can give you a quick summary of what is being said: Here we go! And shoot! Oh! Shootshootshoot! Naaa! … Place a banana on the Pitch! Place a banana on the pitch! Oooh! … Hey Boys, the Girls want a match! Yeah super!

It’s either that or you have to be part of the German national team to enjoy this privilege. I’m not sure what the tv spot tries to suggest there. But I hope it’s the Wii, pursuing a stellar football career is too much effort for me.
