Matchday 15: Move along, nothing to see here
By: Jan | December 4th, 2007
Abby, Chris and Angela already covered most of this weekend’s biggest games, so this recap is basically just a quick reminder to visit their blogs. And it’s for completeness’ sake too.
Werder Bremen 2-1 Hamburger SV
Bremen won the northern derby, to much of the dismay of Chris over at the Hamburg Offside. The victory gifted Bremen a rare 24h at the top of the table and was a fitting desert after Wednesday’s Real Madrid main course.
Arminia Bielefeld 0-1 Bayern Munich
A Ribery inspired victory helped Bayern Munich restore their top position in the Bundesliga table. Angela covered the match over at the Bayern Munich Offside. Bayern fans are slowly growing a bit impatient, regarding the recent lack of high scoring victories though.
Hertha BSC Berlin 0-3 Bayer Leverkusen
Berlin currently defines the term mid-table as they are ranked 9th out of 18. The defeat means that their impressive home record got spoiled a bit, which I hope has only been a temporary letdown. Hertha’s last home match will be against Bayern Munich, and I’m somewhat counting on Lulu upsetting Uli’s star force. For the greater good/an open title race. It was Leverkusen’s fourth consecutive win though, which means they are making a first albeit shy statement towards the Champions League spots, which are only three points away. Abby covered the match on the Hertha Offside.
For a look at the weekend’s other results you can check out the Bundesbag’s weekend recap. The obligatory Honigstein post is up as well.
