Mario Gomez received 196 votes from German sports journalists to claim the “Player of the Year 2007″ award. Werder Bremen’s Diego who was voted MVP by his Bundesliga colleagues came in second with 175 votes and Bernd Schneider took the third place with 156 votes. Mario Gomez’ coach Armin Veh completed Stuttgart’s award swoop by winning the “Coach of the Year 2007″ award with 449 votes ahead of Nuremberg’s Hans Meyer with 221.
