Hoffenheim Answer Unpleasant Chants With Unpleasant Noise

Well, according to a statement released on the club’s website, a Hoffenheim employee did – on his own accord.
The high publicity and pro/con arguments surrounding billionaire backed village team Hoffenheim have died down for a while now, just as Hoffenheim themselves settled down as yet another mid table team. That hasn’t stopped the fans in the curve – self proclaimed authority on what constitutes football’s true values – to regularly go through the motions of protesting against Dietmar Hopp and Hoffenheim and sending a chorus of insults in their direction.
It seems aforementioned employee was so fed up with those stupid chants, that he answered them with an even more stupid reaction and installed a high frequency speaker under the visiting fans’ block to drown out the chants (see photo and you can briefly hear it towards the end of the sound clip above) – and now faces a police investigation and left at least one Dortmund fan with a tinnitus. According to eyewitness reports surfacing on the web, this doesn’t seem to have been an isolated incident and happened during several Hoffenheim home games, which makes it a bit odd that nobody else at Hoffenheim knew about it.
