Asked about a penalty decision against his team during Friday’s game against Mönchengladbach (4-1), he answered that the referee was much better positioned and that referees are well trained and make the right decisions. He then ended the interview ensuring that he was serious. He may or may not have just blamed the ref – we’ll never know.
He also adjusted his glasses with his middle finger. But Felix Magath is not Jens Lehmann, so it really was just that. Though, he would have had reason enough for a bitter reaction, after his Wolfsburg side was torn apart by a Mönchengladbach team that can do quite a bit more than just to defend in numbers.
